While I specialize in Continental European philosophy—and can teach you about thinkers like Gilles Deleuze, Martin Buber, Georg Friedrich Wilhelm Hegel, Immanuel Kant, David Hume, Friedrich Nietzsche, Jacques Derrida, Michel Foucault, Giorgio Agamben, Emmanuel Levinas, and many others—I also have special interests sometimes in Chinese thinkers such as Mencius or Lao-tse, and some knowledge of African philosophers such as Kwasi Wiredu or Kwame Nkrumah. Aristotle is my favorite ancient Greek philosopher, and Plato and Socrates are of course very important. I can teach you about classical philosophy, some Medieval thinkers, Modern Enlightenment-era thought, existentialism, and so-called “postmodernism.” I am more than happy to discuss my current interests in philosophy with you during our calls.
